A love letter to sourdough.

Hi guys! Remember when everyone was losing their freaking minds about making sourdough bread, having Zoom dates with friends and growing that herb garden finally? We took a strange time in our world and started to slow down and do cool things with it. Then… we realized “uh oh… this might be a while” and a little frustration set in. Screw sourdough! I want to get back to “normal”. Spoiler alert: we’re in the new “normal” right now. These times are a fact of existence. They are not new in any way. It’s been happening for thousands of years. So, let’s step back for a sec, slow the roll, get your starter out of the fridge and start making sourdough again. These things that happened as byproduct of this craziness are not a novelty. They came from us slowing down and connecting to what we really needed… to breathe, connect, slow down, really talk with each other, even if it was over the interwebs, and yes… making sourdough. Things that we were excited about and totally committed to are starting to fall to the wayside. If we’ve already forgotten the joy of baking sourdough then how are we expected to keep the joy in our everyday life? You got this. Keep baking.
